About

After graduating from Indiana University as a licensed elementary school teacher, I decided I didn’t want to jump headfirst into teaching a “regular” classroom, so I headed to Spain to be a Language Assistant for a year. But naturally, the grass is always greener on the other side and by the next fall, I was teaching 2nd grade in Indianapolis. Two years of the ups and downs that is public education in the USA led me to question whether I wanted to be a teacher at all. But as I tried to consider other possible career choices, I realize there is nowhere else I’d rather be than the classroom. I researched international teaching positions and realized I’d hit the jackpot! I moved to Colombia, taught 1st grade in Bucaramanga for four years and am now moving on to 3rd grade in Medellín. Let the adventure continue.
